Abstract
1421517 Mixing apparatus INTERLIZ ANSTALT 30 Jan 1974 [2 Feb 1973] 04347/74 Heading B1C In an apparatus for successively "whirling up" a charge of a powdery or fine grannular material in an upwardly elongate container 2 Fig. 1 and for blowing the whirled up material out of the container and which may be used for supplying a mixture of air and magnesium oxide to the waste gases and the burner of a heating installation to prevent corrosion of the parts and fittings or for blowing cement or fertilizer out of silos or for spraying insecticides from containers, there is mounted at the wall of the container at least one nozzle 10 which is directed substantially in the circumferential direction and is connected to a compressed air line 16 provided with a controllable valve 14, and at least one outlet pipe socket, such as pipes 19, 20, is disposed at the upper end of the container. Nozzle 10 may be inclined downwardly at an angle of 10‹ to the horizontal and a plurality of the nozzles may be equally angularly spaced around the wall. At least one further nozzle 11 for agitating and fluidising the material may be provided in the lower end of the container and controlled by valve 15. At least one of the valves 14, 15 is controllable automatically depending on the height of material in the container such as by pressure sensitive switches in the lower portion. The air may be heated, for example by compressor 17. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, the nozzles are in the form of small outwardly flared jet nozzles 35 provided on a helical pipe 34 connected to a separable compressor and control valve unit 31. Outlet pipe sockets 33 communicate tangentially with the container 30.
