Abstract

1421440 Lubricants CHEVRON RESEARCH CO 13 Aug 1973 [18 Aug 1972] 25282/75 Divided out of 1421439 Heading C5F [Also in Division G6] A lubricating grease contains gaseous krypton 85. The krypton may be incorporated into the grease either by introducing a bubble of the gas and then kneading, or by stirring it in during compounding of the grease from its components. The grease may be used in detecting excessive wear of a drill bit or failure of seals in earth drilling, as described and claimed in Specification 1,421,439.
