Abstract

1419436 Shock absorber end connections FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 18 Sept 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 43629/73 Heading F2S Each end-connection of a vehicle shock absorber comprises a support member 16, 17, Fig. 1 (L.H.S.) or 16<SP>1</SP>, 17<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2 (R.H.S.) extending radially from the shock absorber, an elastic ring 19, 19<SP>1</SP>, 21, 21<SP>1</SP> (which may be discontinuous, Figs. 5 and 6, not shown), a clamp member 22, 22<SP>1</SP>, 23, 23<SP>1</SP> and screws 24. When the respective clamp members are attached to bodywork and wheel suspension sections 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, the elastic rings grip the support members. Since the support members extend radially the overall length of the shock absorber is reduced.
