Abstract

1419235 Electro-physical measurement - Moisture ONTARIO RESEARCH FOUNDATION 8 March 1974 10602/74 Heading G1N An R.F. moisture-measuring capacitor probe houses an integral rectifier circuit. As shown Fig. 2 the probe comprises an enclosed hollow insulating cylinder 20 surrounded by cylindrical electrodes 22, 24 which are axially spaced by an insulating ring. The whole assembly with its end-seals (42..44) is covered by a heat-shrinkable plastics tube. Fig. 1 (not shown). Coaxial cables 12, 14 pass through the seals and carry the R.F. supply and the D.C. moisture signal respectively. The R.F. supply cable is terminated by a characteristic impedance load which is mounted on a circuit board with the diode rectifier and smoothing network inside the cylinder 20. Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
