1418776 Synchronizing tape recorders and film projectors A SIDI 21 June 1974 [27 March 1973] 14678/73 Heading G5R Pulses, originally recorded on a tape 1 at a rate of one for each frame of film passing through a cine-camera, when played back through a trigger circuit 2 cause a light source 3 to flash. As shown, the light source 3 is carried on a disc 4 which makes one revolution for each frame of film passing through a projector, e.g. being driven by the shutter shaft 5, and the speed of the tape recorder or the projector is adjusted until the light source 3 appears stationary relative to a fixed pointer. Alternatively, a second light source is flashed by contacts on the shutter shaft, synchronism being indicated when the two light sources flash together.
