Abstract
1418397 Bottles; caps for corked bottles AGE BODEGAS UNIDAS SA 7 March 1973 [8 March 1972 (2)] 11025/73 Headings B8D and B8T A bottle 8 is provided with a permanent canvas sheath or wiring 1 shaped to the form of the bottle by one or more seams and secured at the neck and base of the bottle. As shown, the upper end of the covering is secured at the neck by a band 15, which is covered by a cap 16 of a stopper 11. Alternatively, the covering may be secured to the bottle neck directly by a cap of metal or of plastics. The lower end of the covering is gathered at the base and secured by sewing or by sealing wax 7 which is accommodated in a base recess, the recess then being filled with a filler 9 and covered by a disc 10. The band 15 and a binding 2, which covers the shaping seam or seams are of leather or plastics. In another embodiment, Figs. 8-10 (not shown), the upper end of the covering is secured by a hood 24, whose open end is drawn together by a tape or cord 25, the hood and cord ends being fixed by wax seals 23 and 27.
