Abstract

1418245 Valve filter L & W EQUIPMENT CORP 24 May 1974 23351/74 Heading BID [Also in Division F2] A filter assembly adapted to be housed in a through bore of a rotatable ball valve closure member having a window which lies adjacent an access port in the body of the valve when the member is in the fully open position is provided with a strainer element 98 whose perforations are larger than those of a screen 96 such that contaminant particles caught therebetween can be viewed through the window. Rotation of the closure member through 90‹ to the closed position enables the filter assembly to be removed from the bore for cleaning of the filter. The element 98 and screen 96 are held in the assembly against stops by a spring 97.
