Abstract

1417951 Gas fired water heaters JUNKERS & CO GmbH 2 March 1973 [4 March 1972] 10257/73 Heading F4A A water heater, fired by a gas burner 10, comprises a combustion chamber 11 and heat exchanges 12 both of which are formed from copper and are provided with a coating of copperaluminium alloy as a protection against corrosion by combustion products; the coating being applied by first spraying on an aluminium suspension containing a binding agent or immersing the surfaces to be coated in such a suspension, and subsequently treating in a reducing furnace at a temperature and for a period of time sufficient to convert substantially all of the aluminium into aluminium-copper alloy. The heat exchanger 12 comprises a pipe which comprises a series of parallel portions 13 passing through a lamellar block 14 and connected to water inlet and outlet pipes 15, 16 which are also formed from copper and coated as already described.
