Abstract
1417247 Gettering UNION CARBIDE CORP 9 Feb 1973 [30 March 1972] 6407/73 Heading H1D A getter device for a picture tube comprises an annular channel 23 containing a getter material and a cover member which closes the top of the channel at opposed points on one diameter and which is formed with upturned portions 29 at opposed points along an orthogonal diameter. The getter is disposed in the funnel portion of the tube so that when it is heated getter material will be expelled from the regions of portions 19 which direct the getter flow away from the screen and electron optical components of the tube.
