Abstract

1417238 Spring motors TENSATOR Ltd 25 Feb 1974 [12 April 1973] 17725/73 Heading F2S A spring motor of the kind having a storage rotor 1, an unwind rotor 2 and an interconnecting length of spring 3 pre-set to a radius smaller than those of the rotors 1, 2, is characterized by the spring 3 being made up from a plurality of layers of spring strip material, 3a, 3b, 3c, secured together at each end and being of progressively increasing length from one extreme layer 3a to the other 3c. The spring 3 may cross the line joining the centres 4, Fig. 1, or lie alongside it (not shown) and may be fastened to one or both rotors. The layers 3a, 3b, 3c may be secured to each other by bolts 5, by rivetting or by spot welding.
