Abstract

1416104 Remoulding ends of pipes; bending pipes INTECO ESTABLISHMENT 27 July 1973 [27 July 1972] 35907/73 Heading B5A [Also in Division F2] Elements 18, which may be assembled end-toend to form a pipe bend of any desired arcuate extent, are constructed by thermally softening the skew cut end of a straight segment of plastics pipe and then pushing it on to assembled cones 6, 19. On bringing dies 10 together, the softened end is shaped into a socket 22 and the cool end forms a spigot 22. After the socket has cooled, a screw (20, Fig. 2, not shown) is released to allow the corner 6 and 19 to be separated. The elements 18 may be secured together by a synthetic resin adhesive or cement.
