Abstract

1414940 Adsorption of water from oil CHARLES JUI-CHENG HSU 16 July 1974 [16 July 1973] 31481/74 Addition to 1346708 Heading C5E [Also in Division G1] In a water-from-oil soaking device a sack 11 of porous material containing metal weights 16 and a quantity of pulverized Sterculia hynchnophora 15 has the characteristic of absorbing water but not oil and has at one end a grommet by which the device is secured by a tethering line. In an embodiment, Fig. 5, a row of pockets have weights 26 secured diagonally therealong to facilitate the device being folded for packing, Fig. 7 (not shown).
