Abstract

1413633 Frequency demodulators TED BILDPLATTEN AG AEG-TELEFUNKEN TELDEC 12 Feb 1973 [12 Feb 1972] 6832/73 Heading H3A A video recording reproduction apparatus comprises a scanning device (not shown) for providing a frequency or phase modulated signal coupled directly and via a delay circuit 5 to first and second inputs respectively of a demodulator 4, the delay circuit providing a delay of (2n+ 1)/4 times the period of the carrier frequency with n = 1, 2 or 3 whereby disturbance signals lying outside the deviation range of the carrier frequency are substantially attenuated. By choosing n suitably, it is possible to modify the demodulated output versus instantaneous frequency characteristic so that the disturbance signals are either attenuated or completely suppressed. Any increase of non-linearity within the operating range can be minimized by limiting the modulated carrier or by compensating arrangements.
