Abstract

1408466 Photopolymerizable compositions LE QUADRIMETAL OFFSET 15 Feb 1973 [16 Feb 1972] 7585/73 Heading C3P [Also in Division G2] Photopolymerizable compositions comprise a dispersion of a film-forming binder in an aqueous, aqueous-acetone or aqueous alcoholic solution of a photopolymerizable compound selected from polyethylene glycol mono-cinnamate, acrylamide, mucochloric acid (2,3-dichloro - 4 - oxo - 2 - butenoic acid) and 1,3,5- triacryloylhexahydrotriazine, and a photopolymerization initiator. Examples of the initiator are 2-ethyl-anthraquinone, 2-butyl-anthraquinone and ferric ammonium citrate. The binder is suitably an acrylic polymer, e.g. a copolymer of acrylic acid and methyl methacrylate or ethyl acrylate. Alcohols which may be included in the aqueous medium include C 1 to C 4 alkanols. The compositions are useful for forming photosensitive layers in lithographic plates.
