Abstract

1408445 Vehicle stabilizers UNIC KK 31 Oct 1972 [2 Nov 1971] 50183/72 Heading B7J A load handling vehicle such as a truck crane 1 which is automatically levelled has vertical outriggers 5 of piston-and-cylinder type to each of which hydraulic fluid may be supplied via a magnetically operated valve and a conduit 16 when the valve is switched to position B or C such as by a solenoid SOL 15 which is actuated either by sensing means 8, 10, LS detecting tilt of vehicle body 2 or by pressure responsive moans PS detecting a pressure drop in an outrigger head end chamber due to a loss of ground contact by that outrigger 5. The sensing means comprises an upstanding bracket 8 form which a weight 10 is pivotally suspended and is normally (i.e. when the vehicle is level) spaced from the contacts (11a), Fig. 3 (not shown), of limit switches LS arranged around the weight 10 in positions corresponding to respective outriggers 5. Horizontal outriggers 6 are also provided which are used to project the vertical outriggers beyond the sides of the vehicle body 2.
