Abstract
1408354 Thermometers BIO-MEDICAL SCIENCES Inc 23 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 49186/73 Heading G1D A clinical thermometer comprises an elongate member having a plurality of cavities filled with solid solutions of different compositions of the same two organic compounds, the cavities being arranged in rows extending longitudinally of the elongate member and being filled with the compositions such that each row indicates a different temperature range and for any one row, the lower temperatures are indicated more remotely from the measuring end of the thermometer than are the higher temperatures. As shown, the elongate member which may be provided with ribs 50 comprises an aluminium carrier sheet 12 which is provided with the cavities and which may be covered with a polyester film on each side, the cavities each containing a solid solution, a dyestuff 20 and an acceptor 22, the dyestuff being carried by the solid solution on melting to the acceptor to provide an indication of temperature.
