Abstract

1408192 Absorbers LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS GmbH 5 July 1972 [5 July 1971] 31528/72 Heading B1L Nuclear power installation exhaust gases, comprising krypton and xenin nitrogen and oxygen leaves the after-cooler 5 and is fed to the gas-cooling and drying plant 7. This gas is fed to a preliminary absorber 7 and a main absorber 8 before discharge through vacuum apparatus 9 to the exhaust chimney. The preliminary absorber 7 described more fully in relation to Fig. 3 (not shown) represents the smaller part of the absorption plant and serves for the decay of the short-lived fission products with high heat and daughter product precipitation as well as simultaneous filtration of daughter solid. The absorber described more fully is relative to Fig. 2 (not shown) is constructed for ready and safe exchange of absorbent. The main absorber 8 which represents the larger part of the plant serves for the decay of the longer-lived isotopes and the filtration of solid daughter products therefrom. The absorber is constructed for exchange of absorbant if necessary.
