Abstract

1407736 Wells &c GRAY TOOLS CO 19 Nov 1973 [8 May 1973] 53588/73 Heading E1F Apparatus for use in a well comprises a tubing head 12; at least one tubing hanger 10 mounted in the tubing head; pack-off means 14 for sealing between the tubing head and hanger(s) 10; a control line 20 extending through the or each tubing hanger and the pack-off means, at least one valve 60, the or each valve being mounted in a predetermined one of a plurality of ports 47 in the tubing head, the remaining ports being adapted to receive set screws 16 which, when tightened, compress the pack-off means against the hanger(s), the valve(s) being operable from the exterior of the tubing head; fluid-tight conduit means 72 interconnecting control line(s) and valve(s); and means (76), Fig 1 (not shown), disposed exteriorly of the tubing head for connecting a pressure line (74) to the valve(s). The conduit means 72 comprises flexible tubing and is interconnected by fittings 68 and 70 to the control line 20 (via a nipple 24) and the port 47, respectively. The or each control line 20 is arranged for operating a down-hole safety valve (not shown).
