Abstract

1407006 Photographic printing apparatus AGFA-GEVAERT A G 21 Aug 1972 [21 Aug 1971] 38814/72 Headings G2A and G2X Photographic prints, especially borderless prints, are made by projecting images 2 on to a photosensitive strip 1, projecting marks 3a on to a border 3 at the edge of the strip, processing, and scanning the marks 3a to control a cutter 13 for producing separate prints, the border 3 being at least partially separated from the rest of the strip after processing. The border may be completely cut from the strip or perforated so that the customer can remove it. The border may also bear a date, and marks 3b, c, d indicating printing corrections, order numbers, the serial numbers of the corresponding originals and the position of the end of a series of originals. In Fig. 3, each time a photo-cell 12 detects a mark 3a it resets a counter 23 to zero. Counter 23 counts pulses from a measuring device 24, stops rollers 6, 7 and operates a cutter 13. Rollers 21, 22 slice off the border. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the border is perforated by a toothed wheel (18).
