Abstract

1406515 Binoculars W ROTH 10 Dec 1973 [23 May 1973] 57232/73 Heading G2J Binoculars comprise two monoculars 1 hinged to opposite edges of a coupling plate 3, the distance between the hinges being sufficient to permit the two monoculars to be folded side by side against the coupling plate. When folded against the plate 3 portions of the monocular housings are received in recesses 4 in the plate. A bridge 8, connected to the objectives of the monoculars, is slidably adjusted to vary focusing by rotation of a knurled knob 5 on the plate 3. A prism holder Fig. 3 (not shown) is adjustably secured in an eye-piece guiding tube of each monocular by means of three grub screws which extend through the eye-piece guiding tube into a peripheral groove in the prism holder.
