Abstract

1405667 Filamentary lap former GOLDSWORTHY ENG Inc 6 Oct 1972 46241/72 Heading D1N [Also in Divisions B5 F2 and F4] Filaments 7 from reels pass between feed rollers 302, 303, through guides 295, passages 292 and into a mould M, to form a layer therein. The speed of the feed rollers 302, 303 is controlled by a mechanism 317, and pressurised air fed through inlets 299 into air chambers 293 and through Venturi throats 297 sucks the filaments along. Sand is fed from inlets 305, and the filaments severed by a guillotine 318. The feed head 291 is reciprocated by a plate 306 (e.g. by a helically grooved shaft, and a cam follower). Moulding of filament-reinforced resin tubes and storage tanks is described (see Divisions B4-B5).
