Abstract
1405582 Anti-fouling coating M & T INTERNATIONAL BV 21 Aug 1972 [20 Aug 1971] 38844/72 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions A5, C2 and C3] Anti-fouling coating compositions comprise as toxicant a mixture of tri-n-butyl tin fluoride and a bis-thiocarbamate or bis-dithiocarbamate of formula I: wherein R<SP>1</SP> is phenyl, R<SP>2</SP> is hydrogen, A is -O- or -S- and Y is -C 2 H 4 OC 2 H 4 - or -CH 2 CO.O.C 2 H 4 .O.CO.OH 2 -. The compositions are applied to fibre glass panels in the form of a paint comprising rosin and a filmforming vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer in addition to pigments and said toxicant to inhibit the attachment and development of fouling organisms (e.g. algae and barnacles).
