Abstract

1405429 Security devices BLOXWICH LOCK & STAMPING CO Ltd 18 Dec 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 58623/72 Heading E2A [Also in Division B6] A security device for the fastening mechanism of a door for a freight container comprises a rigid body 10 and a rigid U-shaped shackle of which the limbs 24, 25 are received in spaced openings 11 in the body, each limb having a snap-in engagement with a resilient latch 16 wholly enclosed within the body. After insertion of the shackle into the body the fastening mechanism secured by the device cannot be released without obvious damage to or destruction of the body or shackle. As shown, the limbs 24, 25 are provided with hooks 26 which snap into slots 19 formed in the limbs 17, 18 of the latch. Lugs 30 and kinked parts 28, 29 of the shackle respectively enter notches 14 in the recesses and the recesses themselves to prevent insertion of a tool between the lugs and kinked parts and the body.
