Abstract

FOERDERTECHNIK STREICHER GmbH and M STREICHER 22 Jan 1973 [21 Jan 1972] 3108/73 Heading F1F To compensate for wear a stator for an internally-meshing screw pump has an elastomeric sleeve 1 that can be compressed radially by turning one or more screws 13 in an annular disc 10 so as to compact balls 12 between a tubular cover 8 and a casing 3, which consists of dovetail-section strips 4, 5, the strips 4 and/or 5 being fixed to the sleeve. In a second embodiment, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the sleeve is compressed by compacting axiallyextending rollers (17, 18), or balls, circumferentially of the casing. In a third embodiment, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), compression is effected by tightening a roller chain (22) disposed circumjacent the casing. In a fourth embodiment, Fig. 7, balls 27 are pressed against the casing by axially-loaded bushes 28, 29 with frusto-conic surfaces 29a as shown. In a fifth embodiment, Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown), compression is obtained by contracting one or more bands, or "clips", (31) that clamp axially-extending bars or tubes (30) against the casing. In a sixth embodiment, Figs. 10 and 11, the casing comprises overlapping strips 35 that are loaded radially by balls 49 compressed by frusto-conic ends 50 of bushes 51...55, which in turn are subjected to axial loading by a ring 56 and screw-threaded tiebars 58 only one of which is shown in Fig. 10.
