Abstract
1404829 Condensing pyrene with paraformaldehyde HOECHST AG 24 July 1972 [26 July 1971 10 June 1972] 34507/72 Heading C5E [Also in Divisions C2 and G2] Pyrene is reacted with paraformaldehyde in the presence of glacial acetic acid and zinc chloride to obtain a condensate containing about 6 to 8 pyrene units. The product is a photoconductor (see Division G2).
