Abstract

1404405 Cinematography K VOCKENHUBER and R HAUSER 1 Feb 1973 [1 Feb 1972 2 June 1972] 5133/73 Heading G2E An intermittent film feed mechanism includes a film engaging claw 2 having a first component of motion along the length of the film generated by a follower 5 on cam 7 and a second component of motion causing film engagement and disengagement generated by a follower 14 on cam 18. In ONE revolution of the cam 7, the claw 2 will produce TWO complete reciprocations. One of these reciprocations in each cam revolution is selectively associated with the second component of motion. As shown the cam 18 has a single track 19 and the follower 14 may be moved by lever 21 between the position shown and position 14'. In one revolution of the track 19 a complete film engaging/ disengaging motion is performed. The positions 14, 14' associate this engaging/disengaging motion with a selected one of the reciprocations. The resulting two forms of film feed maybe used for feeding normal and super 8 film. In other embodiments the engagement cam may have two annular concentric tracks with the follower 14 switchable between them, Fig. 2 (not shown) or the lever moving the engagement cam follower may be of varied construction. In one embodiment Fig. 8 (not shown), the different forms of film feed correspond to forward and reverse film feeding.
