Abstract

1404306 Carrier bonded rhamnosidase L GIVAUDAN & CIE SA 21 Feb 1974 [22 Feb 1973] 7933/74 Heading C3M [Also in Division C2] A process for the manufacture of an enzyme derivative or an enzyme system derivative having rhamnosidase activity and inhibited #-glucosidase activity comprises treating a carrier with a solution of an enzyme or an enzyme system having rhamnosidase activity such as hesperidinase or naringinase whereby the #-glucosidase activity is selectively blocked. The carrier is preferably an activated silicacontaining material, e.g. porous glass which has been covered with a layer of diazotized aromatic diamine, e.g. diazotized 4,4<SP>1</SP>-diamino-diphenylmethane. The enzyme is used to convert hesperidin dihydrochalcone into hesperetin dihydrochalcone glucoside (see Division C2).
