Abstract

1404082 Volatilizing deodorants &c S C JOHNSON & SON INC 15 June 1973 [26 June 1972] 28625/73 Heading A5G A device for delivering volatile materials into the air comprises a casing 22 having two ends 24 with perforations 26. Within the casing is a body 28 impregnated with the volatile material and having a plurality of channels 30 therethrough which communicate between its ends adjacent to the perforated ends of the casing. The device is provided with a base 34 designed so that air may pass into the device at both ends and carry out with it volatilised material. Various modifications are described, e.g. with a base which may be adjusted to regulate the degree of access for air through the base (Fig. 5, not shown), and in which air may be forced through the device either by shaking so that the body 28 moves (Fig. 6, not shown) or by using a telescopic casing which may be "pumped" to assist in delivering the volatilized material (Fig. 7, not shown). The body 28 may be formed of cardboard or paper, the casing 22 of any suitable metal, plastics or the like material.
