Lubricant conveyed by fluid.-To lubricate steam shovels &c. in which a number of steamengines receive their steam from a common source, lubricant is delivered in the path of the steam and is then conveyed by the steam to each engine. A pump 59, Fig. 2, driven by an arm 61 and a link 62 connected by a pin 63 to the valve. rod 47 of the hoisting-engine, supplies lubricant through a pipe 58 to the chest 8 containing the controlling-valve 48, Figs. 3 and 4. A pipe 55 supplies steam to this valve-chest. Steam passes to the hoisting-engine valve 44, Fig. 7, through a port 42 and pipe 41 to a port 39, and exhausts through ports and pipes 38, 40, 43, 51. Steam to the swinging and crowding engines passes along pipes 53, 12 by way of the valve-chest 9 of the hoisting-engine.
