1402874 Inverting SCRAGG POWER DRIVES Ltd 2 July 1973 [5 July 1972] 31361/72 Heading H2F In an inverter comprising a bridge of switching devices T1 ... T6 having inverse diodes D4 ... D6, current measuring means S1 is included in the path of current flowing solely in the switching devices. Device S1 develops a unidirectional signal voltage stated to be proportional to the RMS value of the fundamental component of load current. Devices S1, S2 may be resistors or inductors co-operating with Hall effect devices. In a speed control system for a squirrel cage induction motor, the voltage across impedance S1 may provide the control signal for the feedback loop. Thyristors may replace transistors T1 ... T6 and may be pulse-width modulated.
