Abstract

1402575 Dividing G ONGARO 18 Oct 1972 [20 Oct 1971] 47967/72 Heading B3W [Also in Divisions B5 and G5] Varying sized, three dimensional alpha numeric or decorated symbols are obtained from the same drawn metal rod or plastics extrusion by cutting the rod along different parallel planes at different angles to the longitudinal axis of the rod. From an extrusion 26, having a symbol 28 in which dimensions "a" and "b" are equal when the section is cut at 90 degrees to the longitudinal axis, a symbol 30 can be produced in which the "a" dimension is unchanged while the "b" dimension is increased by cutting the rod at an angle to the longitudinal plane. Cutting at an angle to the horizontal plane produces a symbol 32 in which the "a" dimension is enlarged with the "b" dimension unchanged. In both cases some portion of the original surface remains on one face or another of the symbol producing the three dimensional effect.
