Abstract

1400216 Delivery sheets RANK XEROX Ltd 25 June 1973 [23 June 1972] 29645/72 Heading B8R Flexible sheets are stripped from a surface, e.g. of a xerographic drum, by means of a device for blowing the leading edge of a sheet away from the surface, said device comprising a rigid hollow bar 241, Figs. 1 and 2, having a linearly spaced line of puffer jets arranged in groups 242, 243, 244. An L-section masking member 245 is formed with recesses 246, 247, 248, or perforations, and is slidable in front of the jets, so as to mask the group 242, the groups 242, 243, or none. Fig. 2 represents the left-hand half of the device, the other half being a mirror image thereof, for dealing with centrally aligned sheets of three different widths. In another form, the bar is cylindrical, and the masking member is a cylindrical sleeve fitting over the bar and having apertures, which may be in groups of circumferentially spaced apertures or may be circumferentially-extending slots of lengths selected so that, on angular movement of the sleeve, the required number of jet orifices are uncovered.
