Abstract

1400164 Automatic control of speed: electric timepieces INDUSTRIAS DE RELOJERIA SA 15 June 1972 [15 June 1971] 28127/72 Headings G3R and G3T [Also in Division H2] A speed control arrangement compares the time taken for a motor rotor to move between two fixed positions with the pre-set period of a monostable arrangement triggered when the rotor is at one of the fixed positions. The motor rotor carries at least one permanent magnet 2 which co-operates with pick-up coil 6 to provide, through amplifier 5, a driving pulse in coil 7. Pulses are produced also in coil 3 by magnets 2 and these pulses trigger monostable 4 which emits an output pulse of preset duration which disables amplifier 5 so that no driving pulses can be supplied to coil 7 during this pre-set duration. The motor is thus maintained at a speed corresponding to the duration of the pulse from monostable 4. The motor may be used to drive the hands of a high precision watch.
