Abstract

1400095 Trenching apparatus KOKUSAI CABLE SHIP CO Ltd 4 June 1973 [7 June 1972] 26506/73 Heading E1F A machine for digging a trench for a submarine cable 6 comprises a main body 1 divided into two portions 1a, 1b, having a cutter bit 2 rigidly mounted beneath the body, may have both forms of element thereon and each layer may also have a compressible pad 2. and at least one stabiliser 3 divided into two portions 3a, 3b connected to the respective body portions 1a, 1b, either the body portions or the stabiliser portions being connected together by a joint 11 permitting pivoting about a horizontal transverse axis. The stabiliser may be a single sled beneath the main body or two sleds, one on either side of the body. A pivotally mounted press block is located at the rear outlet for the cable 6.
