Abstract
1399980 Television G O OKIKIOLU [trading as OKIKIOLU SCIENTIFIC & INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATION] 18 July 1973 [29 June 1973] 31129/73 Heading H4F In a television camera light from a cathoderay tube flying spot scanner is directed, via inclined semi-transparent mirrors or a perforated mask, to a photosensitive device receiving an optical image, whereby the device produces a signal having an instantaneous value determined by the intensity of the image at the point of the device addressed by the flying spot. The mask or mirrors direct light from the CRT to a single corresponding position on the photosensitive device (i.e. they replace a lens or aperture). The CRT may provide X-rays, U-V, I-R or visible rays. In a display device, an electrooptic or magneto-optic device is supplied with video signals to modulate infra-red or visible light from a CRT flying spot scanner. By using beam splitters a plurality of cameras or display devices may be associated for use in colour television. A camera and display device may be combined, having a common flying spot scanner and being selectively operable using electric switches or optical shutters. Alternatively the camera output can be fed to the display input. If, in addition, the camera is directed at the display, electrical oscillations are produced.
