Abstract

1398486 Releasable fastenings C G MATSON 8 May 1973 [8 May 1972 31 July 1972] 21930/73 Heading E2A [Also in Division F2] A pneumatically-operated machine 10, as shown, a vibrator, is secured to a base 22 by a sliding dovetail connection which is locked in place by an expanding elastic envelope 36 fed from the same pneumatic supply as the machine. Air is supplied (at inlet 50, not shown) to a manifold 38 from whence part is supplied to the machine inlet 18 through a pipe 52 and part passes at 42 into the envelope. As shown, the sliding connection comprises sloping surfaces 28, 30, but other profiles are described. There may be two envelopes (Figs. 6, 7, and 8 not shown).
