Abstract

1397331 Foam-producing apparatus VITAFOAM Ltd 29 March 1973 [21 Jan 1972] 2906/72 Heading B1C A device for supplying foamable material, for use with a foamed material slabstock producing apparatus of the type including a mixer head 12 and an inclined conveyor 10, comprises a container 11 having relatively inclined walls 13, 14, forming a (V) with wall 13 extending higher than wall 14, a ramp 16 inclined downwardly from the upper edge of wall 14, side walls 15 (only one shown) and inlet means 19, which may comprise one or more apertures in the container, for connection to head 12. A baffle plate 17 may be provided which stops short of wall 14 to create a restricted passage 18. Walls 13, 14 may be hinged together as may wall 14 and ramp 16 so as to be able to vary the configuration. The ramp may be provided with a flexible plate overlying its junction to wall 14, the plate having an adjustably convex form across the width of the junction so that less foam passes over the central region, thus minimising the "domed" effect of the product.
