Abstract

1396178 Laminates STAMICARBON NV 22 Sept 1972 [24 Sept 1971 (2)] 44011/72 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Multi-ply structures such as drive and conveyer belts and tyres may be formed by pressing together components formed from compositions having high building tack and comprising (1) a conventional tackifier, e.g. phenol/aldehyde, phenol/acetylene and alkylated phenol resins, and (2) a rubbery copolymer of ethylene, at least one other α-olefin, e.g. propylene or butene, and optionally one or more polyenes, characterized by a thermogram recorded by differential scanning calorimetry at a cooling rate of 8‹ C./min. and showing heat of crystallization as a function of temperature having a peak which passes through a maximum at a temperature between - 7‹ and + 11‹ C. The compositions may also contain fillers, e.g. carbon black, silica, whiting, aluminium and magnesium silicates, titanium dioxide and clay; extender oils; e.g. naphthenic, paraffinic and aromatic oils; and vulcanizing ingredients.
