1396173 Shaft couplings ZAHNKADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 9 Aug 1972 [13 Aug 1971] 37168/72 Heading F2U In a vehicle transmission a plate 1 fixed to an engine shaft normal thereto, is coupled to the casing of a hydrodynamic torque converter by linked torque transmitting resilient elements 6 received in pairs of facing close fitting semicylindrical recesses 2, 5 in a flange on the plate 1 facing radially inwards, and in the periphery of the casing 3 facing radially outwards. The recesses 5 in the casing 3 may have lips 4 at each end to retain the rollers 6 axially. The elements 6 may have a thin web to join them to form a ring lying between the recesses 2 and 5. The ring may be able to be broken at a roller comprising a pin and socket.
