Abstract

1395310 Turbomachines BROWN BOVERISULZER TURBOMACHINERY Ltd 9 Oct 1973 [8 Nov 1972] 47107/73 Headings F1C and F1G In a multi-stage axial-flow turbomachine, e.g. a compressor for a gas turbine plant the inclinations of a plurality of stages of stator blades 7 are adjusted by connecting the blades of each stage to a respective adjustment ring 16 by individual levers 13 having slides 17, engaging grooves in the rings and inter-connecting the rings by flexible strips 22, e.g. of spring steel, anchored at their downstream ends on pivots 23. The levers 13 extend approximately circumferentially. Rotation of one ring, and consequently all of them, with consequential axial movement is effected by a pair of rams (28), Fig. 1, (not shown) acting on the second upstream stage ring of a compressor having five adjustable stages. A floating support ring (27) between the first and second stages, increases the stability of the strips.
