Abstract

1394862 Telephone sets POST OFFICE 23 May 1973 [30 May 1972] 25228/72 Heading H4J A cradle switch actuator 2 is provided with a latching device 10 that can be manually operated, when the cover 1 of the set is removed, so as to simulate a handset-on-hook condition. The latch has an operating arm which fouls the cover so that the possibility of inadvertently replacing the cover without releasing the latch is removed. The latch is a one-piece moulding (Fig. 3, not shown) which clips on to the actuator. When its arm is raised to the position shown, the camming projection thereof bears against a support pillar 9 so forcing the actuator down on to cradle switch 5. The latch has an over-centre action.
