Abstract

1393951 Scraper conveyer drive C PIROVANO 19 June 1972 [8 July 1971] 28688/72 Heading B8A Drive apparatus for a scraper conveyer comprises a flexible member, e.g. cable 21 to which are fixed radially projecting members 22 which slide in a guide 19, 20 to form push plates, the drive comprising a driven cylindrical rotor 14 with radial blades 15 round which the cable is passed so that the blades of the rotor engage with the members on the cable to drive the cable. Loose material is carried towards a screen 30 along guide 19, is supported by the blades 15 and a housing (16, not shown) round the rotor to the highest point from where it falls through the screen on to guide 20.
