Abstract
1393478 Thiazolidines L GIVAUDAN & CIE SA 4 July 1973 [4 July 1972] 43688/74 Divided out of 1393477 Heading C2C The invention comprises thiazolidines of the general Formula I in which R<SP>6</SP> is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, ethoxycarbonyl, ethoxy carbonylmethyl or acetoxymethyl; and R<SP>7</SP> represents butyl, sec-butyl, pentyl, decyl, 4-methyl-3-pentenyl, dimethoxymethyl, 2 methylthioethyl, 2-furyl, 2-(5-methylfuryl), 2-thienyl, 2-(5-methylthienyl),2-pyrrolyl, 2-(N-methylpyrrolyl), pyridyl or 4-(2,2-dimethyldioxolanyl) when R 6 represents hydrogen; or represents isopropyl, isobutyl, 4-methyl-3- pentenyl, 1-hydroxyethyl, acetyl, propionyl, acetoxymethyl, 2-(1-acetoxyethyl), 3-hydroxypropyl or 2,2-dimethoxyethyl when R<SP>6</SP> is methyl; or ethoxycarbonyl or 1-ethoxycarbonylethyl when R<SP>6</SP> is ethoxycarbonyl; or the ethoxycarbonylmethyl group when R<SP>6</SP> represents the ethoxycarbonylmethyl; or represents acetoxymethyl when R<SP>6</SP> is acetoxymethyl. They may be prepared by condensing cysteamine or a salt thereof with a carbonyl compound of formula R<SP>6</SP>COR<SP>7</SP>, said carbonyl compound being used in protected form if desired.
