Abstract

1392567 Electro-physical measurement - fluid flow H G KLUG 9 Oct 1972 46493/72 Heading G1N In a system for measuring the flow of conducting liquid by its height in a conduit, and using a capacitor gauge with an electrode in the conduit wall, the back of the electrode is protected by a thick layer of dielectric from the effects of moisture in surrounding concrete or earth. The electrode may be mounted in a fibre-glass measuring conduit section Figs. 1 and 3 (not shown) or stuck to the inside of a conduit wall. The electrode may be woven mesh to give flexibility for expansion. Minor modifications are illustrated in Figs.4 and 12 (not shown).
