Abstract

1389629 Welding by fusion VEREINIGTE DEUTSCHE METALLWERKE AG 1 Aug 1973 [19 Aug 1972] 36657/73 Heading B3R [Also in Division C7] Copper-nickel sheets or plates are MIG or TIG arc welded using a weld filler material which contains, by weight, 8 to 24% Ni, 0À1 to 2% Fe and/or Mn, 0À05 to 1À5% Nb, less than than 0À5% Si, the balance Cu. The preferred inert gas is argon. It is stated that these weld fillers prevent the formation of oxides normally encountered with titanium-containing fillers.
