Abstract
1389601 Lirikwork, indicating apparatus SMITHS INDUSTRIES Ltd 31 Aug 1973 [1 Sept 1972] 40602/72 Heading F2K [Also in Division G1] A mechanism for converting axial reciprocating deflecting movements of a pressure or temperature responsive diaphragm 26 into rotary movement of an indicator pointer 20 of a pressure or temperature measuring gauge comprises a plastics (P.T.F.E.) lever 12 pivoted at 13 on the gauge base 10 and having a projection 24 engaging the diaphragm 26, the outer end of the lever 12 having a projection 22 engaging a helical groove 23 of a plastics (P.T.F.E.) spindle 15 rotatably mounted at 2 in the gauge base 10 and carrying at its upper end the pointers 20. In operation, deflections of the diaphragm 26 rock the lever 12 which via the projection 22 and helical cam slot 23 rotate the spindle 15 to move the pointer 20 across a calibrated scale dial 21, a hairspring 28 serving to return the pointer against a stop 32 at the lowest measured values.
