1388991 Trimethylchlorosilane DOW CORNING Ltd 30 Jan 1974 [7 Feb 1973] 5961/73 Heading C3S Trimethylchlorosilane is prepared by contacting liquid tetramethylsilane with chlorine at a temperature above -20‹ C. in the presence of antimony trichloride and/or pentachloride, the reaction mixture being maintained at a temperature below 30‹ C. when no organic solvent is employed as a reaction medium.
