Abstract
1387689 2,4-Diaminopyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid amides CIBA-GEIGY AG 11 May 1972 [12 May 1971] 22186/72 Heading C2C Novel 2,4 - diaminopyrimidine - 5 - carboxylic acid amide drivatives of the formula wherein R 1 is a (C 1 -C 3 ) alkyl or cyclopropyl group, and R 2 and R 3 are optionally (C 1 -C 3 ) alkoxy- or (C 3 -C 6 ) cycloalkyl-substituted (C 1 - C 8 ) alkyl groups, or (C 3 -C 8 ) alkenyl, (C 3 -C 5 ) alkynyl or optionally (C 1 -C 3 ) alkylsubstituted (C 3 -C 6 ) cycloalkyl groups, or a salt thereof with an inorganic or organic acid, are prepared by sequentially reacting a compound of the formula wherein Hal 1 , Hal 2 and Hal 3 each represent a halogen atom, in the presence of a base with (a) an amine of the formula R 1 NH 2 at a temperature of from -50‹ to + 10‹ C., (b) an amine of the formula R 2 NH 2 at a temperature of from 0‹ to 70‹ C., and (c) an amine of the formula R 3 NH 2 at a temperature of from 40‹ to 150‹ C., and optionally salifying the final product with an organic or inorganic acid or a functional derivative thereof. The novel compounds possess biocidal properties.
