Abstract

1387547 Feeding record tapes SIEMENS AG 26 Sept 1973 [27 Sept 1972] 44986/73 Heading G5R In a vacuum buffer chamber a wall 1 which engages an edge of the magnetic tape loop 4 contains a light source 10 and one or more light detectors 11, 12, and a part 7 of the opposite wall 3 is reflective. so that a beam from the source 10 is reflected from the part 7 of the wall 3 and then from any reflective mark 5 or 6 on the tape 4 to a detector 11 or 12. As shown, a part 8 of a third wall 2 also is reflective so that in the absence of the tape loop 4 light from the source 10 is reflected on to both detectors 11 and 12.
