Abstract
1387309 Reforming catalysts; catalytic reactions and regenerations STANDARD OIL CO 25 July 1972 34709/72 Headings B1E and B1F [Also in Division C5] Catalysts comprise a Group VIII noble metal, an absorbent, refractory, inorganic oxide and mordenite having a silica: alumina ratio of at least 19:1. Examples describe platinum/chlorine/alumina/mordenite catalysts. The catalysts may be used in the tail-reactor (20) of a reformer (Fig. 1), the reactors (8, 12 and 16) containing a conventional platinum/chlorine/alumina catalyst. The reformer also comprises a swing reactor (not shown) for use when the catalyst in or of the other reactors is being regenerated. The swing reactor may contain the conventional catalyst or preferably the mordenite-containing catalyst of the invention. The feed stock may be a naphtha.
